With a 3 axis machine, spindle interference is a real problem when working with standard length tooling.
Matsuura's 5-axis configuration of the 4/5 th axis table eliminates this problem by means of the tilting the table during high speed machining. With a fixed spindle / tilting table configuration maximum rigidity of the tool and tool holder is achieved , whilst allowing the tool to access even the most difficult aspects of a complicated workpiece.
In the case of 5-axis machining, tilt cutting enables machining with a standard tool, which improves the cutting conditions.

In case of 3-axis machining of mold & die, the tool contacts ZERO speed point of its rotation. But in the case of 5-axis machining, the tool contacts the high speed point (better cutting condition) because it cuts an angle.
